Invitation to Bid
Notice is hereby given that the Calloway County Public Library District Board of Trustees will accept sealed bids for the surplus property listed below. Bids will be accepted until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017 at which time they will be opened and read aloud at the Calloway County Library, 710 Main St., Murray, KY 42071.

All bids shall be submitted through an offer to purchase by execution of a form provided by the Library. Bids shall be clearly marked on the outside of the envelope as SEALED BID and submitted to the Calloway County Library Board, 710 Main St., Murray, KY 42071.

Prospective bidders may inspect the property during normal library operating hours (Mon - Fri from 8:00am-8:00pm, Sat from 9:00am-5:00pm and Sun from 1:00pm-5:00pm). Prospective bidders may obtain a bid packet containing the offer to purchase form, current deed, survey plat and PVA map at the office of Greg Taylor & Associates, 705-A South 4th St, Murray, KY 42071, or by emailing greg@gregtaylorlaw.com. The surplus real estate to be sold is generally known as the “Higgins House” and is located at 712 Main Street, Murray, KY 42071.

A legal description of the property may be referenced on the deed recorded in Book 1140, Page 496 in the Calloway County Clerk’s Office, and the parcel is identified as Calloway County Property Valuation Administrator Map #006-0-0014-0019A.

This property will be sold by quitclaim deed and the seller makes no warranty regarding this property or the title thereto. Prospective bidders are encouraged to perform a title examination in order to determine if there are any easements, deed restrictions, or defects in the title. Further, perspective buyers are encouraged to inspect the property as the seller makes no warranties or claims regarding this property’s fitness for any particular use.

All costs associated with the transfer of the property will be the responsibility of the successful bidder. The successful bidder shall pay the earnest money deposit of 10% of the purchase price within one (1) business day of the bid opening, with the remainder of the purchase price due thirty (30) days thereafter.

The Calloway County Library Board reserves the right to either accept the highest and best bid or reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities.
